Moore Public Schools 鈥� Brink Jr. High School Gymnasium
91传媒 has completed a number of projects for Moore Public Schools, one of Oklahoma鈥檚 largest school districts, including the addition of a new gymnasium and storm shelter to the existing Brink Jr. High School. The new, single-story, 24,000 SF addition project was completed in 12 months. Construction was scheduled to maximize use of the summer off-months, completed in time for the start of the school year.
The full-size competition gymnasium with retractable bleachers, concessions and restrooms, is constructed of a brick veneer with drilled piers and a slab-on-grade foundation system. The new addition also includes a cast-in-place concrete, FEMA-rated storm shelter that houses girls鈥� and boys鈥� basketball locker rooms, volleyball locker rooms, coaches鈥� offices and storage. The mechanical, electrical and plumbing of the storm shelter are separate and independent of the rest of the building in case of a storm-related emergency.
